But as the world of haute joaillerie evolves, Lab-Grown Diamonds (LGDs) introduce a transformative fifth dimension—Consciousness. This additional ‘C’ embodies a modern era of luxury, offering not only breathtaking brilliance but also sustainability and transparency.

1. Cut: Precision and Light Performance
Diamond Cut Grade:
The Diamond Cut Grade scale is a vital tool in evaluating a diamond’s beauty and sparkle. It assesses the cut of a diamond by examining seven key factors—brightness, fire, scintillation, weight ratio, durability, polish, and symmetry. It grades the diamonds on a scale ranging from Excellent to Very Poor.
- Very Good: A very good cut reflects most of the entering light. The superior sparkle and brilliance closely resemble an ideal cut.
- Good: A good cut has above-average brilliance and sparkle. These diamonds showcase beauty at a lower price point.
- Fair: A fair cut offers little sparkle as the majority of the light exits from the bottom and sides of the diamond. They are usually preferred as side stones.
- Poor: A poor cut loses significant light, making the diamond appear dull with minimal sparkle.
2. Clarity: The Sparkling Secret of Diamond Clarity
- Internally Flawless (IF): These diamonds show no inclusions or blemishes under 10x magnification, making them exceedingly rare and eye‑clean. It is almost impossible to find a natural diamond that is completely inclusion and blemish-free.
- Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1 and VVS2): Inclusions are very minute and difficult to locate, even for trained graders using magnification. These stones appear flawless to the unaided eye.
- Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2): Inclusions in SI₁ & SI₂ diamonds are more noticeable under 10x magnification. These inclusions are sometimes visible to the untrained and unaided eye as well.
- Included (I1, I2, and I3): Obvious inclusions are clearly visible at 10x magnification, affecting their transparency and brilliance and are visible to the naked eye. At Solitique, we do not offer included-grade diamonds.
3. Color: Comparing Natural and Lab-Grown Shades
- Clear, Pure Beauty: Lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment, limiting exposure to elements like nitrogen or boron. This means fewer unwanted tints and a more consistent, beautiful color.
- Stunning Shades: While naturally colored diamonds are rare and costly, lab-grown diamonds can be crafted in hues like deep blues, soft pinks, and sunny yellows—making unique colors more accessible.
- Brilliant Whiteness: Many lab-grown diamonds achieve top D- F color grades, giving them a crisp, icy-white glow that enhances their sparkle.

4. Carat Weight: Size and Affordability
Many assume carat weight determines a diamond’s size, but it actually measures mass- “Bigger isn’t always heavier”. Carat weight and size aren’t the same—carat measures mass, while cut and shape affect appearance. Two Diamonds with the same appearance may be of different carats.
